Personal, Social, Health and Emotional development, including the encouragement of our young people to become good citizens, permeates throughout the school and is part of everyday learning. We teach these life skills through topic work, PE and Circle Times and assemblies.
Issues may be dealt with as appropriate occasions arise, e.g. washing hands, healthy foods or new baby in the family. Other issues, such as making friends or dealing with problems are approached through structured discussions and role play.
We teach Sex and Relationships Education as part of our curriculum but there are no discrete lessons. The children’s questions are answered as honestly as possible and at their level of understanding.
