We wanted to commemorate the centenary of the end of World War 1 and as a mark of respect the staff and children (helped by the parents) created a very special memorial in the school hall.

The poppies were made out of plastic bottles and then painted and hung onto wire with pipe cleaners. Mrs Jones then drew out a silhouette of a soldier saluting in remembrance.

On the 9th November we had two soldiers from the Royal Engineers regiment join us for our assembly to think about those soldiers who kept us safe in the past and those who do so today. We are very grateful to them all.

Rob Butler, a previous pupil at the school when it was Delce Infants, now plays professional rugby for the London Broncos team. Rob came into school to talk to the children about the importance of teamwork and never giving up. The children were amazed by a clip showing Rob in action on the rugby field. He was so skilled and such an inspiration to them all. Thank you Rob!
